Yeah, they can definitely feel like a thing of the past these days as we find ourselves in a place that is anything but routine.
I know, I know... the temptation to stay up late, sleep in, skip workouts, and eat just because we have access to food all day, is strong! Leaning in to this temptation for the short term can feel good, even therapeutic but as
So, where do we start? How do we create a routine, a schedule, anything that resembles some structure and/or normalcy?
We. Start. Small.
A routine is simply a set of good habits we develop as a daily practice. It is about creating a system that works for you in your current season of life. And, it is a practice, meaning there is plenty of room for trial and error.
Let's begin.

I LOVE love and I LOVE Valentine's Day!
This is just a note to remind you to wrap yourself in love today in every possible way you can.
I have shared some of my favorite love quotes below... enjoy. ~ D. xo

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
– Lao Tzu
“There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.”
– Friedrich Nietzsche
“The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.”

~~~~~ We’ve all felt difficult emotions at some point in our life.It's part of the human experience. ~~~~~ And, as humans the temptation is to "fix it", to get through these emotions as quickly as possible; and to just make it go away. We all have our particular coping mechanisms and they work... alcohol, food, shopping, exercise... albeit, temporarily. Yes, we know can stop the feeling for the short term, but for the longterm, pushing them down deeper and deeper only allows them to fester to the point where they can boil over showing up as hostility, irritability, anxiety, & even depression.
Deepak Chopra calls this "emotional turbulence" and to me that describes it perfectly because that's what it feels like in the mind... chaotic and stormy and confusing. We over think and over process and over analyze and try to figure out how to get rid of it. ~~~~~ How many times have you tried this approach? How many times has it... |
Good Morning, Derith!Today is the 2nd Tuesday of 2019... I think I finally have my days right... and we're emerging from the holiday fuzz feeling ready to create a solid and most definitely,FIERCE 2019! As we move into a space of endless possibilities, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by all of the noise out there, leaving us unsure of where to begin. This "noise" can cloud our vision to the point where we start using language based on fear, shame, and comparison. Three words in particular that come to mind... Any time I hear these 3 words come out of my own mouth or a client's mouth, I know someone else is steering the ship. I went LIVE on my Coach D. page on Sunday to share what these 3 words are and to give you 3 new words to FLIP the navigation back to you to create your BEST 2019! Click the video below to watch! I'd love to hear what your "supposed to, should, and need" statements are! Please share them in the comments below! NOW,... |
Creating a Solid Morning Routine
Hello Tuesday!
I love the quote above from Anne Lamott, a brilliant American novelist...
"The hour before the world gets to you is precious and sacred time."
Let that seep in for just a moment.
What does your typical morning time consists of?
Is it yours?
Is it calm?
Is it nurturing?
Does it help set you up for success?
We have two Tuesdays left in January and since this is the month of building new habits, I thought we could take these two opportunities in The F.I.E.R.C.E. Life to build effective morning and nighttime routines.
And today, we begin with mornings.
----
By simply putting a few steps into place, we can reclaim our mornings so they do indeed feel "precious and sacred".
The purpose of a morning routine to is to ground the mind, body and soul to generate clarity on where we choose to put our energy.
This clarity moves us away from react mode (other's agendas) and into intentional choice...
