Wow. Patience is not something that comes easily to me, especially because it seems synonymous with slowing down. Slowing down is hard, and I don’t love it. But the older I've gotten, the more I’ve thought about the alternative. If we don’t slow down, we end up spinning, charging, and sprinting for days, weeks, months, and years. And as we know from our workout routines, a pace like that can only lead to injuries and burnout.
We know what happens to our physical body when we don’t prioritize rest, but what happens to our mind and soul when we don’t slow down?
