Ooooh boy! It sure felt like summer this past Memorial Day Weekend... which does tend to the unofficial kickoff of the summer season, doesn't it? Here we are on the last day of May, feeling both dismay for the warp speed of time and the joy that summer is (almost) here! Summer can feel like the ultimate form of self-care… rest, relaxation, a slower pace, no school drop offs, and vacation! But at the same time, when summer hits, it can be easy to throw away our exercise routines and healthy habits; but what our bodies really need, no matter the time of year, is consistency. You hear me say that all of the time: "The first habit to cultivate is always consistency." Now, that doesn’t mean rigid standards and saying ‘no’ to all the fun things summer has to offer. It means loving your body enough to pursue consistent movement, nutritious foods, and lots of hydration IN ADDITION to all the fun plans you’ve got going on. |
