FALLing back into routines

Oct 24, 2023

Now that Fall is winding down and we've all been thrust into a fall routine of sorts, now it’s time to take stock of what’s working and what isn’t when it comes to creating our ideal routines moving forward.

Routines are important for us as women because they provide structure and predictability in our lives, reducing stress and anxiety. They help us manage our time more efficiently (something we could all improve at), allowing for better organization and prioritization of tasks and goals.

Routines optimize our productivity because they free up so much brain space! When our healthy habits turn into autopilot routines, we have already won the mental battle of doing the things that are best for us.

November is right around the corner so let’s spend a little time thinking about where we’re at, where we’d like to go, and what we need to get there.

Take a moment to look back on your health and wellness journey.

  • Celebrate your achievements, both big and small and acknowledge the areas where you've excelled so you can appreciate your hard work.
  • Then, identify the habits that may need improvement or the ones that have veered off track. Honest self-assessment is the first step to positive change.

Ask yourself:

  • What is working right now?
  • How will I continue this?
  • How will I celebrate this?

Sometimes, our daily habits and routine need a little shake up. Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. YIKES.

Maybe it's time to create a new plan tailored to your current priorities, taking into account your unique needs and challenges. Trying something new might be the thing you need to reignite your motivation.

Ask yourself:

  • What isn’t working right now?
  • What’s my biggest obstacle?
  • How can I flip it?

Remember, change is a process, and it's okay to have moments of struggle. Show some self-compassion and understand that setbacks are a part of any journey to self-improvement. Maybe you need to strip it all down and laser focus in on one area you really need to grow in.

Ask yourself:

  • If I could only focus on 1 habit right now, what would it be and why?
  • What do I need to do to get there?

Just remember: the journey toward better health and wellness is a dynamic and ever-evolving process. Reflecting, reassessing, and refreshing your approach can help you adapt to the changing tides of life while staying true to your goals!
